Gul Kripalani is the Chairman & Managing Director of Pijikay Group of Companies and has been in the business for 44 years. He has served as the Regional President and the National Vice President of Seafood Exporters’ Association of India.
He has led several delegations on behalf of the Industry as well as been part of several delegations to Israel, Taiwan, France, UK and Belgium. During his tenure as the President of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber in 2009 – 2010, he led the “India Calling 2009” delegation of approximately 150 people to the EU.
He is currently the President of the Federation of Indo-Israel Chambers of Commerce and President of the Maharashtra Chapter of International Christian Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, he is the Convenor for Terry Fox (India) Committee, an organization which espouses the cause of research of cancer amongst children. He is the Past President of the Rotary Club of Bombay and also the Immediate Past National President of the Indo-Canadian Business Chamber.
He is on the Advisory Board of Habitat for Humanity, India. Recently, he has been appointed as the District Chairman of “The Peace Conference” for Rotary District 3140. He is a part of the Governing Body of ‘Bombay First’ an initiative towards influencing saving Bombay from environment abuse and the planning of the city.
Last year, he was awarded the Asia Pacific Nehemiah award for promoting and contributing towards the cause of poverty housing in India. He has recently received the Rajiv Gandhi Award for work amongst the NGOs.
In September 2010, he has been appointed as the Honorary Consul General for Iceland.
On the 1st of March 2014, he was honoured by the Governor General of Canada on his State visit to India, with the Medallion of the Governor General and a citation recognizing his contribution to Indo-Canada ties.
